More phones

The Grandstream arrived today, and plugged in and off we go. Of course now I find all the problems in my asterisk config, but I have to say it's way more cool to use a real phone to make a call...

And by the way, analytics is still not responding...

Google Analytics Sucks...

I signed up for google analytics for the SX site.

I pasted the code into each page as detailed by google.

So far, analytics has refused to recognise that the code is there. I guess they are caching it somewhere, but I wonder how long it lasts for?

Of course, now the problem is...

This damn phone is not SIP, is it? It's some proprietry load system that needs a 3Com NBX system to boot it.

OK, where is the protocol analyser?

Got the phone

Dammit I need a power-pack for it, and nothing I've got will fit!

More on the air conditioner

I just got a call from the local Airwell people.

Really helpful actually, considering I am not a maintainer or dealer or anything... They have suggested that I check the logic board in the outdoor unit, as the pipe thermistor there might be the problem.

Guy I spoke to says the slightest errors and these things just won't run at all...

Sounds familiar

IP Phones

I picked up a 3Com 3102 VoIP phone last week, and I am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. I can't find any information on what settings it needs for asterisk, so this will be kind of fun, because 3Com have tended to have a habit of doing their own thing over the years and assuming the rest of the world will follow them (Sorry to the guys I used to work with over there, but you know what I mean...)

James is also sending me a Grandstream, so we will now have two real handsets to go with all the softphones. At least the Grandstream is a known quantity.

More details as they come to hand

Workshops

I am a car nut, but you probably already knew that if you're reading here...

I have come to realise that there is not enough room at home for the Ford, Nissan Mazda and Porsche. I don't want to get rid of any of them (for obvious reasons); but they have to live somewhere.

Solution? Get some workshop space...

I have found a place not too far from home. Business went belly up and they want out. Nice thing is an old (but still useable) Dyno Dynamics AWD Dyno is installed. I figure, I can rent time on the Dyno (especially on weekends) for clubs or private tuning people, etc. Should help pay for things.

Hey... Mr. Bank Manager...
